Zhu Yu was born in 1970, Chengdu. In 1991, he graduated from the Fine Arts School attacted to the Central Academy of Fine Arts.
In 2019, Zhu Yu's work was exhibited in the exhibition Frontier: Re-assessment of Post-Globalisational Politics at OCAT Shanghai.
The exhibition invites more than thirty famous contemporary artists who employ video, installation, performance, photography and documentary language in rich expressions of their artistic thinking on regionality.
